How Carbohydrates Can Help You Get Fit

When people talk about dieting for Fat loss, one of the things that often come into the discussion is whether carbohydrates are a boon or bane for Fat watchers. The fact is that carbohydrates can, in fact, help you get a lean body when they are broken down properly and used to formulate a healthy dieting plan.

There are generally two basic classifications of carbohydrates, namely: simple carbohydrates and complex carbohydrates. But, for purposes of creating Fat loss diet plans, and in the interest of promoting a healthy and sustainable Fat loss solution, it would be better to classify carbohydrates into three groups.

The first group would be vegetables. This is the most important and healthiest class of carbohydrates, and should always be included in your dietary intake. That is to say, you should always eat fresh vegetables in most of your meals. It is also advisable to eat the vegetables uncooked or lightly cooked in order to retain most of its nutrients.

The second group of carbohydrates includes whole grain breads or pasta, brown rice and other organic products. These are moderately processed carbohydrates that may be added to your dietary intake once in a while, especially when your Fat-loss efforts are going well so far. You need to remember, though that this type of carbohydrates does not come with the same health and Fat loss benefits as the first group, so it is best to consume them sparingly.

The third group consists of heavily processed carbohydrates such as sugar products, pastries and white bread. These are food products that are commonly called “junk food”, and should be avoided as much as possible. They have great potential to wreak havoc with your healthy Fat loss efforts, so steer clear of them and choose healthy alternatives instead.
